The Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) Main Examination 2025 began on June 17 across 77 centers in Jaipur and Ajmer, despite mounting protests from aspirants. The exam is being conducted in two shifts daily—from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM—and will continue through June 18. A total of 21,539 candidates are appearing for the Mains, selected from over 3.75 lakh aspirants who took the Preliminary exam in February. However, the exam has been marred by unrest, with students demanding the declaration of RAS 2023 final results, access to answer sheets, and a clear annual exam calendar. Many also called for a postponement of the Mains, especially for candidates from border and military-affected regions, citing disruptions from Operation Sindoor. Protesters staged hunger strikes, and some were hospitalized due to deteriorating health. Despite this, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) proceeded with the exam, filing a legal caveat in the High Court to preempt any stay orders. The court declined an urgent hearing on the matter. Security has been heightened at all centers, with strict entry protocols and ID verification. Candidates arriving late were denied entry, as per RPSC guidelines.
