Raveena Tandon’s Quiet Tribute: Actress Flies Air India Post-Tragedy, Shares Message of Strength and Solidarity

In a poignant gesture of resilience and support, Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon boarded an Air India flight just days after the devastating crash of Flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad. The tragedy, which claimed 241 lives, has left the nation in mourning and the airline under intense scrutiny. Tandon, known for her candor and compassion, took to Instagram to share her experience aboard the flight. “New Beginnings … to rise and fly again against all odds,” she wrote, describing the atmosphere as “solemn” and the crew’s smiles as “tinted with sadness.” Her post captured the silent unity among passengers and crew—an unspoken bond of grief, courage, and quiet determination. The actress praised the airline’s staff for their professionalism and grace under pressure, calling them “fearless” and expressing her condolences to the families of the victims. Her words resonated with many, offering a moment of collective healing in the wake of one of India’s worst aviation disasters in recent memory. The crash occurred on June 12, when a Boeing 787 Dreamliner en route to London’s Gatwick Airport went down shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad. The sole survivor, identified as Vishwaskumar Ramesh, remains hospitalized. The flight was commanded by Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, whose final mayday call is believed to have helped avert an even greater catastrophe. Tandon’s gesture, echoed by fellow veteran actress Zeenat Aman, who also flew with Air India recently, has been widely appreciated as a show of solidarity with the airline’s crew and the grieving families.
