Amitabh Bachchan Silences Troll with Grace: ‘Thank You for Talking About My Death

Even at 82, Amitabh Bachchan continues to command not just the screen but also the digital space—with wisdom, wit, and unwavering dignity. The legendary actor recently responded to a troll on X (formerly Twitter) who mocked his late-night posting habits with a comment that bordered on age-shaming. After Bachchan shared a cryptic tweet—“T 5405 – Gadgets break .. Longevity lasts!!!”—a user replied, “Samay se so jaaya karo, varna lambi umar bhi nahi tikegi” (Try to sleep on time, otherwise even a long life won’t last). Rather than ignore the jab, Big B responded with characteristic poise: “Mere maran ki baat karne ke liye dhanyawad; Ishwar ki kripa” (Thank you for talking about my death; God bless you!). The exchange quickly went viral, with fans applauding Bachchan’s ability to handle negativity with class. In a separate reply to another user referencing his film Shahenshah, he quipped, “Ek din tumhari bhi umr ho jayegi… Ishwar ne chaha” (One day you too will age… God willing), though he later deleted the tweet. This isn’t the first time the megastar has addressed criticism. In a recent blog post, he reflected on the constant scrutiny he faces—from how he signs his name to what he wears—and emphasized the importance of living authentically, guided by the teachings of his late father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Still active in films and television, Bachchan proves that age is just a number—and that grace under fire is timeless.
